According to US media reports, Volvo plans to launch its first pure electric vehicle in 2019. It is currently evaluating the CMA platform and SPA, and will eventually select a production platform for the first electric vehicle.
Previously, it was reported that Volvo's first electric car will share the same CMA platform with the Volvo XC40, while the XC90 and S90 will be built on the SPA platform. Volvo's second-generation pure electric vehicle will come from the platform. Volvo is developing a modular electric vehicle exclusive platform (Modular Electrifica TIon Powertrain) with a 100kW/h battery pack and a power output range of 134 to 600 hp. The endurance is significantly improved, and the crossover model has a cruising range of 483 km.
Volvo announced that the electric model based on the CMA platform will draw on the appearance of the 40 series concept car, and 40.1 is the foresight of the new crossover.
